BEEKEEPER: Warm, Smoky, Sweet. Sun-baked wood, a living hum, and the sudden spill of scent. Warm beeswax, buttery and gold, dense with the ghost of a hundred flowers. The bees’ own musk rises, followed by the deep glow of honey, not a simple sweetness but true work of transformation. Soft puffs of smoke curl in, dry and calming, turning the air velvety and strange. One breath, and you are at the hive’s threshold, where smoke, wax, and honey conspire into alchemy. 95% natural.

FOURTEEN CARROTS: Fresh, Woody, Velvety. Fourteen Carrots begins in the earth, where sweetness grows in darkness. Carrot absolute is the heart of the fragrance, rooty and velvety, quietly sensual, carrying the smell of soil and sun at once. Plum slips in with a ripe, shadowed juiciness that makes the carrot glow. Oud settles underneath like warm resin, steady and grounding, turning the blend into a slow, intimate elixir. This is a perfume of buried gold and quiet revelation. 94% natural.

NOTES
TOP: Carrot Seed, Clove, Orange Peel
HEART: Carrot Absolute, Eucalyptus, Patchouli
BASE: Ambrettolide, Vetiver, Cetalox, Oud

JASMINE SMOKE: Lush, Sensual, Smoky. This is not a bright bouquet, but a flower that breathes in the dark, narcotic and creamy, with the faint indolic whisper that makes jasmine feel less like petals and more like skin. Blonde tobacco rises like a slow curl of velvet, carrying a gentle dryness that stains the jasmine with shadow and smoke. As the perfume settles, tonka bean slips in with its drowsy almond sweetness, benzoin spreads a balsamic glow, while labdanum gathers beneath like old amber in a reliquary. Dark, sticky, and quietly devotional. 100% natural. Jasmine Smoke is from the Heretic Archive.

NOTES
TOP: Clove
HEART: Grandiflorum Jasmine

ABOUT THE CAMPAIGN

Learn more about the Rhubarb Thief collection.

Go behind the scenes and discover the inspiration behind our stop motion film.

Rhubarb grows where spells are planted. At the edges of gardens, between order and wildness, it pushes its crimson stalks through dark soil like a secret kept by the earth. In old herbals and folk traditions, rhubarb was less ingredient than incantation, used to restore balance, move stagnant energies, and protect the body from unseen disturbances.

A rabbit perfumer of peculiar habits, Monsieur Lapin slips through fences and under moonlit hedges, stealing stalks and gathering leaves and roots. Not for hunger, but for obsession. Back in his burrow, among dusty bottles, glass vials, and curious instruments, he begins his alchemy, coaxing the wild, electric spirit of rhubarb into perfume.

What emerges is Rhubarb Thief and its fragrance collection. Bright. Bitter. Green. A little sweet. A little dangerous. Rhubarb Thief opens with tension and snap. Grapefruit pith delivers a bitter-bright jolt, tempered by the clean grain of cedar. Angelica, long regarded as a guardian plant and tonic, brings an herbal muskiness that feels both medicinal and spiritual. Thyme and verbena sharpen the edges, while carrot seed introduces a soft earthiness, rooted, warm, and quietly grounding. At the heart, the stalk is snapped. Rhubarb arrives vivid and mouthwatering. Green, tart, and vegetal, its brightness humming with energy rather than sweetness. Pink jasmine softens the sharpness with a translucent floral warmth, as the base settles into moss and resin.

Rhubarb Thief is a perfume of recalibration, bright yet rooted, cleansing yet sensual. A botanical charm disguised as pleasure, stolen from the garden before the light changes and the spell breaks.

INGREDIENTS

No phthalates • No parabens • No synthetic dyes • No formaldehyde • Cruelty-free

At Heretic, we prefer the real thing over synthetics whenever possible. Our handcrafted fragrances are blended in organic sugarcane alcohol, with real botanical extracts that harness the wild beauty and functional benefits of nature. These plant-based ingredients possess the therapeutic powers of the extracts they contain, like the calming effects of jasmine or the uplifting properties of citrus oils.

*PLEASE NOTE: Beekeeper is not 100% vegan due to the Beeswax Absolute in this formula. Heretic’s Founder/Perfumer Douglas Little’s an avid beekeeper in his sparetime and this perfume was inspired by this passion. In order to immerse the wearer in a scent that is true to nature, we’ve used ethically and lovingly sourced beeswax that is completely cruelty-free. Learn more.

THE ART OF LAYERING

Layering is not about excess. It is about conversation. Long before perfume was bottled, scent was built in layers. Smoke over skin. Resin over oil. Herbs crushed into fat. In alchemy, transformation happens not by replacement, but by combination, when two substances meet and reveal a third nature. To layer fragrance is to practice this same art. Each perfume is an ingredient, a spell, or a story. Worn alone, it speaks clearly. Layered, it changes; deepening, softening, or misbehaving just enough to feel alive.

In choosing what to combine, you become the perfumer, shaping balance, tension, and mood on your own skin. Explore freely, trust your senses, and allow each experiment to reveal something new. The final composition belongs to you.

LAYERING RITUALS:

Rhubarb Thief and Fourteen Carrots

Green snap meets warm earth. The tart brightness of rhubarb cuts into the plush, root-driven depth of carrot absolute, creating a vegetal dialogue that feels fresh, grounding, and quietly addictive. It recalls garden soil still warm from the sun, fruit and root colliding beneath the surface.

Rhubarb Thief and Beekeeper

A stolen stalk dipped in honey. Rhubarb’s bitter green edge awakens the golden resin of beeswax and honey, sharpening sweetness into something tonic and alive. This pairing hums with vitality, cleansing yet nourishing, animated by the intelligence of the hive.

Fourteen Carrots and Dirty Hinoki

Roots meet wood. Carrot’s cozy, plum-like earthiness folds seamlessly into hinoki’s clean forest air and resinous calm. The result is grounding and restorative, a scent that feels like breath slowing, feet touching soil, and the body settling back into itself.

Jasmine Smoke and Beekeeper

Floral heat wrapped in ritual. Jasmine’s narcotic bloom drifts through beeswax, honey, and smoke, amplifying both sensuality and depth. This pairing feels devotional and intimate, like incense lingering on skin after ceremony.

Dirty Hinoki and Jasmine Smoke

Smoke moves through the forest. Jasmine’s indolic glow softens against hinoki’s clear wood and resin, balancing bloom and bark, heat and calm. The effect is meditative yet charged, grounding while remaining expansive.

Beekeeper and Fourteen Carrots

Earth sweetened by gold. Carrot absolute deepens the hive’s warm resinous glow, creating a scent that feels ancient and nourishing. A pairing rooted in patience, devotion, and the quiet luxury of things earned slowly.

How to Wear

Our fragrances are gender-neutral and made for everyone.

APPLICATION:
We use plant-based, natural ingredients, which means our scents are light and sheer. To increase staying power, you’ll want to apply the fragrance periodically throughout the day.

LAYERING:
We also encourage you to layer two to three Heretic fragrances not only to increase the overall intensity but to help you create your next signature scent. Choose heavy and lighter blends to layer together, spraying or dabbing the stronger scent first.
